Explaining Hard Things
Hard conversations with kids are...well hard. When you explain hard things in light of the gospel though, hope shines brightly into hard things. Check out this article by Christina Fox as she shares how she explains things like cancer, divorce, and death to her kids.
When we explain heartache through God's story of creation, fall and redemption, we provide an accurate filter for our kids to understand hurts and hard things.
Here is just a preview:
At creation, there was no hurt, heartache, or hard things.
When sin entered the world at the fall, all people and the natural world were impacted.
But, God provided a way for redemption from the difficulties of sin through His Son, Jesus.
Now, fit the hard things into this picture. There is tremendous HOPE found in redemption from sin.
